Fernandes acknowledged that his team struggled to find their rhythm, but was pleased with their overall performance. "We were down in the game, we had to try to get some result from this," he said. "We knew how tough it is to play here against them, obviously, given their great season and success so far." He noted that United created many scoring opportunities, but ultimately couldn't convert enough of them into goals.
Despite the draw, Fernandes expressed satisfaction with his team's performance when they had 11 players on the field. "We were doing well, we could create space for ourselves, we were getting into their box," he said. However, he felt that they needed to do more to create more danger and score more goals.
Fernandes also praised Hojlund for his goal, saying that he hopes it will give the young striker confidence. "Strikers are about scoring goals, and we all know that," he said. "He knows the responsibility of being the No.9 of United, and he has to score goals, that's the demand of a club like this. Everyone who plays here with the qualities to get into the box and score goals has to do it." Fernandes hopes that Hojlund's goal will give him a boost going forward.
