Former football player Royston Drenthe has been hospitalized after experiencing a brain stroke. A group of former Dutch and Belgian footballers, who are part of the FC De Rebellen group, announced on Instagram that Drenthe suffered the stroke on Friday.The group stated that Drenthe is receiving good care and is in good hands. They also expressed hope for a speedy recovery and asked for the family's privacy during this time to allow them to provide necessary support.

Drenthe, who is 38 years old, had a successful career in football, playing for Real Madrid and Feyenoord, among other teams. He also had a stint in England with Everton, Reading, and Sheffield Wednesday. Drenthe retired from professional football in 2023.
